Catching Memories Through The Lens

Learn How This Eagle Photo Was Shot and Edited From Start to Finish – Fstoppers

Bird photography is a challenging genre that requires a lot of patience and skill, but when you get things right, the results can be really rewarding. If you would like to improve your work, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will show you how a photographer shot and edited an eagle photo from start to finish.

Coming to you from Matt Kloskowski, this awesome video tutorial will show you how he shot and edited an eagle image from start to finish. One point Kloskowski makes early on in the video that is especially crucial is to not be afraid to push the ISO higher in order to get a sufficiently fast shutter speed. While it is generally desirable to keep your ISO as low as possible for the best image quality, sharpness should always take precedence, and for a bird in flight being photographed with a long focal length, that means very fast shutter speeds, which, in turn, often means higher ISOs. However, you can always work on high-ISO noise in post (and modern software is remarkably good at handling it), but if a photo is blurry, there really is not much you can do to save it. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Kloskowski.
